چکیده
Panton-Valentine Leukocidin (PVL) is a cytotoxin produced by Staphylococcus aureus that causes leukocyte destruction and tissue necrosis. Therefore, this study aimed to detect the rate, antimicrobial susceptibility, associated risk factors, phylogenetic relationship of PVL-positive S. nasal carriers among patients nurses. The research methods included collection 315 specimens obtained from inpatients identification was confirmed coagulase test. multiplex polymerase chain reaction technique used affirm aureus. antibiotic sensitivity isolates carried out using disk diffusion method. similarity identified pulsed-field gel electrophoresis. This revealed 160 (50.8%) were In addition, 7/160 (4.4%) had lukS gene (six MSSA one MRSA). 100% sensitive gentamicin, linezolid, mupirocin, rifampin, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, teicoplanin, tigecycline, vancomycin. factor analysis longer hospital stay, nasogastric intubation, runny nose significant factors for be carriers. A showed five models they distantly correlated. current will provide knowledge infectious control authority.

A brief history of Staphylococcus aureus Panton Valentine leucocidin
The history of Panton Valentine leucocidin (PVL), one of the toxins of Staphylococcus aureus, began in 1894, 24 years after Sir Alexander Ogston and Louis Pasteur had reproduced human pyemic infections in mice and rabbits by inoculating pus or pus-derived cultures (11,14). The torch of PVL research was then handed down over the decades between small groups of scientists fascinated by S. aureus ...

OBJECTIVES The aim of this paper is to attribute Panton-Valentine leucocidin (PVL)-positive methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) to clonal lineages by molecular typing with special reference to isolates exhibiting spa type t008/multilocus sequence type (MLST) ST8 [widely disseminated in the USA as 'community-associated MRSA (caMRSA) USA300']. METHODS PVL-positive MRSA (n = 117) ...
متن کاملNasal carriage of Panton Valentine leukocidin-positive methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in healthy preschool children.
OBJECTIVE Determining the prevalence of nasal carriage of S. aureus, both sensitive to methicillin and resistant to it, in preschool children and evaluating the presence of Panton-Valentine leukocidin genes in the isolates. METHODS This was a cross-sectional study in which cultures from anterior nares were obtained from healthy preschool children. Isolates were identified as S. aureus based o...
